St. Andrew's Dinner and Dance
In November of each year, Scots around the world pay
tribute to
St. Andrew, the patron saint of Scotland. (The
official day of recognition in Scotland is November 30th.) In keeping
with this tradition, The Scottish Society of Dallas sponsors a formal dinner
and dance which is generally held the Saturday before Thanksgiving. The
evening begins with a reception and cocktail hour.
Post dinner entertainment features live pipe band music provided by the
North Texas Caledonian Pipes & Drums
and demonstrations of Highland dancing by Fiona Alpaugh's,
Dallas Highland Dancers.
The evening concludes with dancing (a variety of music is provided for
all ages) including an opportunity for our guests to try their hand at
a number of traditional, Scottish Country Dances!
Location specifics and additional information for the next
dance (November 2019) will be posted here by late May, 2019.
So...dust off your dancing shoes and make plans to join us next November.
